Conor Murphy – Assistant Cubmaster

Meet Conor Murphy, the Assistant Cubmaster for Pack 183.

Q: Conor, what is your background with scouting?
“Growing up in Ireland I attended the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. As a member of the 4th Kildare troop I have many happy memories, including camping for 2 weeks at the Ballyfin national scout Jamboree in 1993 along with 7,000 other members of the scouting community.

“I became the Assistant Tiger Den Leader in February of 2020 then I moved into the Wolf den as their Den Leader. In 2022, I was selected as the Assistant Cubmaster.”

Q: What about your family?
“In February 2020 my son Bentley joined Pack 183 as a Tiger and I became the assistant Tiger den leader for the remainder of the school year.”

Q: When it comes to training, what are a few of the trainings you have received during your time Scouts?
“During my time in scouting as an adult I participated in the Woodbadge leadership training course. I also became a qualified firearms instructor and I am a member of our shooting sports council.”

Q: What are your favorite things about Scouting?
“Pack 183 has been great way for our family to become more involved in our community and hopefully help make some happy memories for our youth, will having lots of fun along the way.”
